Rodolfo L. Molina is a Managing Director at UBS, focusing on Southern LatAm. Mr. Molina has an extensive track record originating and executing M&A advisory and capital markets transactions for clients ranging from start-ups to established large cap companies.
Among his most recent transactions, Mr. Molina has advised Wal-Mart on its acquisition of D y S (Chile) for US$ 2.7 billion, Repsol on its sale of a 14.9% stake in YPF S.A. to Grupo Petersen for US$ 2.2 billion, Nexans on its acquisition of Madeco’s Wire and Cable Division for US$822 million, and Mineralinvest on its US$240 million sale to Antofogasta Minerals. Other noteworthy transactions that Mr. Molina has advised are Pampa Holding on its US$431 million equity offering, Banco Macro on its US$278 million NYSE IPO and US$150 million Perpetual Bond Offering, Ultrapetrol on its US$138 million NASDAQ IPO and US$240 million follow-on offering, and Hydro- Québec on the US$2.4 billion sale of Transelec Chile.
He also advised GVT on its US$510 million Bovespa IPO, IAM on its US$399 million
IPO, Vivo on its US$3.1 billion corporate restructuring, Codelco on its strategic joint venture with China MinMetals, and the Republic of Argentina on its $82 billion debt exchange. Other companies Mr. Molina has advised in M&A and financing transactions include Quilmes (Argentina), CTI (Argentina), AT&T Wireless, Bell Canada, CANTV (Venezuela), Verizon Communications, Intelsat, Telefónica de España, Telebras and TDS. Prior to UBS, Mr. Molina was a Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney’s Telecom group. Before joining Salomon Brothers, Mr. Molina worked for Bank of America and Exxon Corporation (Esso Argentina).
An Argentine national, Mr. Molina is a Certified Public Accountant and holds both a Masters in Finance and Management of Organizations with honors from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Cordoba (Argentina).
