Professor Core hast taught at Wharton since 1995, and previously taught at M.I.T. He received a PhD from Wharton in 1995 and a BA from Yale University in 1983. Mr. Core was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young Actuarial, Benefits, and Compensation Practice from 1987 to 1991 and a Financial Analyst with Paine Webber Capital Markets from 1983 to 1987. His research focuses on executive compensation and incentives, employee stock options, corporate governance, firm valuation and corporate disclosure. Mr. Core's current projects include the effect of uncertainty on the intensity of CEO incentives, the valuation of executive stock options and the measurement of stock-based incentives, wealth-based contracting, the use of employee options as a financing tool and measuring disclosure quality with computational linguistics.
