Tom Gallagher joined Wachovia Securities as Managing Director and Head of the Defense & Aerospace Group in July 1999. Prior to joining Wachovia Securities, Mr. Gallagher held similar positions at CIBC Oppenheimer Corp. and The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA. Mr. Gallagher's financing, restructuring and financial advisory experience encompasses airlines, defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers and aviation services companies around the world. Additionally, he has co-authored three textbooks published by McGraw-Hill and contributes regularly to Financial Times, Bloomberg News and China Economic Review. Gallagher serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of WFAE, a National Public Radio affiliate in Charlotte. He holds a master of business administration degree from The Wharton School and a bachelor degree (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from The University of Pennsylvania.
