Sanjiv Khattri is an assistant treasurer of the General Motors Corporation, where he has responsibility for Capital Planning, Domestic Finance (including debt/equity markets, foreign exchange and commodities activities), Overseas Finance, Latin American Treasury, Worldwide Treasury and Banking Operations and GM's global Corporate Risk Management activities.
Previously, Khattri was Comptroller of Sales Marketing and Customer Care of GM's Vauxhall subsidiary in the United Kingdom from 1998-2000. In that position, he had responsibility for all financial activities related to Vauxhall's sales and marketing operation in the U.K.
Born in Chandigarh, India on Nov. 17, 1964, Khattri received a B.E. in Production Engineering from Panjab University in 1987 and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1989.
Khattri began his GM career at the New York Treasurer's Office that same year as a financial analyst in the Overseas Finance group. He was promoted through several other groups before becoming director of Capital Planning in 1994. Khattri was named director, special projects and financial planning of GM Europe and GM International Operations, based in Zurich, Switzerland, the following year. He returned to the New York Treasurer's Office in his current position on Jan. 1, 2001.
