Professor Bishop-Lane joined the Wharton School in July 1997. She took on the role of Director of the MBA Program in July 2001. Prior to joining the Wharton School, Professor Bishop-Lane was a member of the faculty at New York University's Stern School of Business. Professor Bishop-Lane's research interests currently focus on firms' incentives to use accounting accruals to manage their financial reports. Much of her research concentrates on the banking industry and the incentives resulting from regulation of that industry. Professor Bishop-Lane earned a Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 1995 and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University in 1985. In addition to her responsibilities as a faculty member, Professor Bishop-Lane has done consulting and executive education for Continental Bank Corporation, Goldman Sachs & Company and New York University and serves as a reviewer for academic accounting journals.
