Professor Ramaswamy has taught Finance at Wharton since 1985. He was named the Edward Hopkins Jr. Professor of Investment Banking in 1998, and the Bankers Trust Term Associate Professor of Finance from 1985 to 1990. His previous appointment was at Columbia University, and he had a visiting appointment at the University of Chicago. His other positions include: Research Coordinator, Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance, 1979-89; Technical Staff Member, Economics Department, Bell Telephone Laboratories, 1977-79.

Mr. Ramaswamy received a PhD from Stanford University in 1978, an MBA from Duke University in 1973 and Bachelors in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology in 1971. Professor Ramaswamy is known for his research in the areas of investment management in equity and bond markets, and options and futures. Currently, Professor Ramaswamy is testing an important model describing the relation between interest rates and maturities with Treasury Bill data. Similar tests with alternative models and data are under development.
