Bob Thompson is a Director in CIBC Oppenheimer's Private Client Division focused on serving the specialized transactional needs of two elements of the institutional investor community, financial sponsors and professionally staffed family offices. Mr. Thompson has been with CIBC since mid-1999 when he joined the firm from Salomon Smith Barney. Prior to his six plus years at Salomon Smith Barney, he ran Vision Consulting, a small market private equity firm specializing in medical device and health related companies. Mr. Thompson got his start in the financial services industry in 1989 working as a financial associate with Capital Analysts, Inc. in their business valuation group. Mr. Thompson graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics. Also while at Georgetown, he was the starting goalkeeper for the Division I soccer program. He lives in Great Falls, Virginia with his wife Jill and their two children Samuel and Grace.
