Lawrence Goodman is Director and Senior Fellow at the US Treasury Department responsible for the Office of Quantitative Policy Analysis.
Prior to Treasury, Mr. Goodman was the Managing Partner and co-founder of GlobalEqon LLC, an independent research firm providing analysis on macroeconomics and financial markets.
Previously, Mr. Goodman was the Chief Global Economist and Managing Director at Santander Investment. He led the Global Economics Research group, and served as a member of the Executive Committee for the Global Equity group. Prior to Santander, Mr. Goodman was the Head of Latin America Economic Research at Salomon Brothers Inc. Mr. Goodman and team were ranked repeatedly by Institutional Investor, Global Investor, and Emerging Markets Investor for research.
Prior to joining Salomon Brothers, Mr. Goodman worked at Bank of America in foreign exchange trading, and also served as an advisor to various international bank advisory committees negotiating foreign debt and Brady agreements.
Mr. Goodman holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, and Ph.D. studies with the Graduate Faculty at The New School. Mr. Goodman serves on the advisory board of the Emerging Markets Quarterly, an Institutional Investor publication.
