James Brennan,

Mr. Brennan joined Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. (predecessor of UBS Investment Bank) in 1984, and has been a member of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Group throughout his career. He serves as Chairman of UBS Investment Bank's Fairness Opinion and Valuation Committee. He has been involved in myriad merger, acquisition, spin-off and defensive situations, both domestically and internationally, in a wide variety of industries.
In the Energy sector, he advised UBS in the acquisition of Enron's Wholesale Gas and Power Trading Operations, and advised Devon Energy in the acquisition of both Anderson Exploration and Mitchell Energy.
In the utility sector, he was involved in the sale of Mid-American Energy to a group organized by Berkshire Hathaway and the purchase of LG&E by Powergen.
In the media sector, he was involved in the redomiciling of News Corp. from Australia to the U.S. (pending), the acquisition (ultimately blocked for regulatory reasons) of Hughes Electronics by EchoStar Communications, and in the successful defense of Medialink from an unsolicited takeover by United Business Media.
In the aerospace/defense sector, he was involved in the acquisition of the Tactical Missile businesses of General Dynamics by Hughes Aircraft Company and the merger of Rockwell International's defense operations with Boeing.
In the automotive sector, he was involved in the acquisition of the Volvo car business by Ford and the spin-off of Rockwell International's Automotive businesses (Meritor Automotive).
In the real estate sector, he was involved in the sale of Captec Net Lease Realty to Commercial Net Lease Realty and the sale of Mid-America Realty Investments to Bradley Real Estate, among other transactions.
Mr. Brennan is a graduate of Catholic University and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
