Joseph N. DiStefano writes about financial topics for The Philadelphia Inquirer, where he has worked since 1997.
Joe has been a reporter since 1989. He has won regional journalism awards for his coverage of failed banks and insurers, public pension plans, credit card companies and corporate tax shelters. He has also written at length about corporate mergers, CEO pay, and the Internet bubble, among other topics.
A magazine article he wrote about the rise and fall of former Penn trustee Saul P. Steinberg (W '59) and his Reliance Insurance Company was included in the anthology Best Business Stories of the Year 2003 (Vintage/Random House). His book, Comcasted, an unauthorized history of the nation's biggest cable TV company and its founders, will be published by Camino Books later this year.
