Paul H. Hough,

Mr. Hough's career with American Express spans 20 years and has included both Finance and General Management responsibilities in the US and abroad.
In his current role, he is the Senior Vice President and Treasurer for American Express. In this capacity, he has responsibility for providing global stewardship for all Treasury strategies and operations. As Treasurer he is responsible for managing the effective use of capital across the company, providing sufficient funding and liquidity through asset securitization and capital market activities, managing global market risk exposures and delivering superior cash management around the world. He leads a worldwide team of more than 200 Treasury professionals in over 20 countries.
Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President - Chief Financial Officer and Head of Business Development for the Global Network, Establishment Services and Travelers Cheque & Prepaid Services Group, based in London, England.
Since joining American Express in 1984, Mr. Hough has spent more than fourteen years in various Finance positions of increasing responsibilities in both the US and International arenas.
He has also spent more than six years in line management roles in the Global Merchant Acquiring and Processing business where his achievements have resulted in significant increases in shareholder, customer and employee value. These results included reengineering significant costs out of the business, negotiating, signing and implementing a global partnership with JCB, driving strategic change across all parts of the business and building superior employee teams.
Prior to joining American Express, Mr. Hough spent three years participating in a work-study program with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in New York.
Mr. Hough has a BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and an MBA from New York University in New York City. He currently resides in the US with his wife and two children.
