Stephen A. Meyer is Vice President and Senior Economic Policy Advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Dr. Meyer monitors and analyzes economic and financial developments in the U.S. and abroad, develops economic forecasts, conducts applied research on issues of concern to policymakers, and briefs the Bank's President and Board of Directors on economic and financial issues relevant to monetary policy, the discount window, and payment systems. Dr. Meyer also chairs the Federal Reserve System staff committee that deals with discount window, reserve account management, and risk management issues.
In addition to his work at the Federal Reserve Bank, Dr. Meyer is Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches macroeconomics in Wharton's MBA for Executives program. He also has taught international finance and a course on financial markets and instruments.
Dr. Meyer graduated from Oberlin College and later earned his Ph.D. in economics at Yale University, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow.
