Panelists: The Global Economy
Frederic Neumann, Professorial Lecturer and Adjunct Professor in Southeast Asia Studies, The Johns Hopkins University-SAIS
Mr. Neumann is a consultant to the World Bank Institute and the Mitsubishi Research Institute, briefing chief economists on developments in Asian business and political environments. A frequent contributor to various newspapers in East Asia, he also serves as a monetary affairs commentator for Thais News television. Mr Neumann previously served as a consultant to the United Nations (UNCTAD/WTO) and various governments. He has held positions as a research associate at Bangkok Bank PLC and the Institute for International Economics (IIE), where he conducted studies on the relationship between financial system structures and currency crises. His current research concerns the psychological determinants of currency crises in emerging markets. A former Fulbright Scholarship grantee, Mr Neumann published on international trade and macroeconomic policy.
