John A. Boord
Head of Latin American Investment Banking
Citigroup

He joined Salomon Brothers in 1992 as a Generalist Associate in Domestic Corporate Finance. From 1993 to 1998 he worked as an Associate and Vice President in the Latin America Corporate Finance Group, originating and executing equity, fixed income and M&A deals throughout the region. From 1998 to 2000 he headed the Equity Capital Markets Latin America team. In 2001 he was named Head of Mexico Investment Banking.
Under Mr. Boord's leadership, The Citigroup Latin America Investment Banking team has recently been involved in a number of high-profile transactions including:
- advising Cemex on the acquisition of RMC Group PLC in Europe
- sovereign debt transactions for Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, the Central Bank of Venezuela and the United Mexican States
- corporate debt transactions for Unibanco in Brazil, Quilmes in Argentina and Televisa in Mexico
- a $429 million Equity offering for Femsa in Mexico in May and a $1.1 billion offering for Southern Peru Copper scheduled to come to market next week.
John received a BSE in Finance and Management from The Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1992, he graduated with a MA in International Relations and Economics and a MBA from Yale University.
