Richard L. Easton has a wide-ranging corporate practice, concentrating in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities and Delaware corporate law matters.

Mr. Easton is actively involved in the U.S. practice of Skadden, Arps, both advising other lawyers in the firm and its affiliates on the Delaware law aspects of their transactions and leading the firm’s representation in other transactions. Over the years Mr. Easton has represented many corporate, investment banking and individual clients in a variety of transactions, including negotiated acquisitions, contested takeovers, proxy contests, and going-private, leveraged buyout and restructuring transactions. He has also represented both issuers and underwriters in public offerings of debt and equity securities. Mr. Easton also provides general corporate and securities law advice to a number of corporate clients on an ongoing basis and regularly deals with disclosure, fiduciary duty and corporate governance-related matters.

Mr. Easton has been practicing corporate law at Skadden, Arps since 1975, and divides his time between the firm’s Wilmington and New York offices. He received a BA from Wesleyan University (cum laude) and a JD from Georgetown University.
