Professor Richard J. Herring
The Wharton School
Professor Herring received his BA from Oberlin College in 1968, his MA from Princeton University in 1970 as well as his PhD from Princeton University in 1973. He has held a teaching appointment at Wharton since 1972.
His research areas include international banking, international finance as well as money and banking. Current projects include the regulation of financial conglomerates, the development of bond markets and a study of the value of liquid secondary markets.
Professor Herring is co-editor of the Brookings-Wharton Papers on Financial Services, on the editorial board of the Journal of Financial Services Research, the Quarterly Review of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Research in Financial Services: Private and Public Policy Annual
Professor Herring has been a trustee of Scudder, New York Funds since 1990. He has also been the recipient of the David Hauck Award for Outstanding Teaching in 1995 as well as Undergraduate Division Excellence in Teaching Award in 1990, 1992 and 1995.
