Milton is Vice Chairman of the Goldman Sachs Strategy and Corporate Development Group and Global Head of the Financial Sponsors Coverage Group. He is responsible for some of the firm’s most important relationships with private equity firms, hedge funds and financial institutions.
Previously, Milton was Vice Chairman of Goldman Sachs Financial Institutions, which focused on raid defense mergers and acquisitions and divestitures of commercial banks, finance companies, investment companies and thrift institutions. In addition, he founded the firm’s strategic advisory efforts in the asset management industry.
Milton became a Partner in 1996. In 1999, he became Head of Corporate Development and was made a member of the firm’s Strategy Committee. In 2001, he assumed additional responsibility as Head of firmwide strategy.
Milton earned a B.S. from California State University Northridge in 1978 and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School in 1980.
