Daniel Kerstein Daniel Kerstein is a Managing Director and Head of the Global Finance Solutions Group. Daniel and his team have primary Global Finance responsibility for Lehman Brothers’ activity related to structured IPOs, spin-offs / split-offs, and other complex structuring situations. Daniel recently advised Altria on its spin-off of Kraft and is advising on the planned spin-off of PMI, Spectra Energy on its spin-off from Duke Energy, and EMC Corporation on its IPO of VMware. Additionally, Daniel has been leading the IPO and listed vehicle structuring effort for alternative asset managers, including the IPOs of Fortress Investment Group and The Blackstone Group.

Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, in 1993 Daniel was a Vice President in Corporate Finance at Merrill Lynch where, while focusing on complex financings, he developed the Contingent Conversion feature and assisted in developing the Contingent Interest feature for convertible bonds. Daniel holds a B.A. from Queens College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
