Frank Zarb

DFrank Zarb is Chairman of Frank Zarb Associates and Managing Director of Hellman & Friedman. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the NASDAQ. He was also Chairman of American International Group. Mr. Zarb previously served a Vice Chairman and Group Chief Executive of Travelers and Chairman and CEO of Smith Barney. Prior to joining Smith Barney in 1988, he was a senior partner at Lazard Freres. In government, Mr. Zarb served in the Nixon and Ford administrations where he rose to oversee federal energy policy as the White House “Energy Czar”. He served in subsequent assignments in the Reagan, Bush, and Clinton administrations.

Mr. Zarb is a member of the boards of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation and Hofstra University, whose business school is named after Mr. Zarb. He earned his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees in business from Hofstra University.
